Check the official residential solar subsidy process, existing system history and quotation details before planning a subsidised rooftop installation.

Check the residential connection and official process
PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana supports eligible residential rooftop solar. Start on the official national portal and review the current process for your electricity distribution company. Schools, hospitals and industrial plants should not use a residential subsidy amount in their project budget without a separately applicable entitlement.
Disclose existing solar and earlier subsidy
Tell the installer about any existing solar capacity and any subsidy already claimed. An extension does not automatically create a new subsidy entitlement. Obtain confirmation through the official scheme and utility process before assuming support for additional capacity.
Confirm equipment and application requirements
Check the current requirements for eligible modules, domestic content, the vendor, installation, inspection and commissioning before placing an order. Keep the application details, approved specifications, invoices and bank information consistent with the scheme’s instructions.
Keep the quotation and subsidy separate
